ABOUT ALL THAT IS / О ТЩЕ ВСЕГО СУЩЕГО Open-Air Performance
The St. Petersburg artist group AKHE has decided to shift the focus of its work from Russia to Europe as a reaction to the reprisals due to its protests against the Ukraine war. "The current projects are helping us to overcome the feeling of fear and to counteract the bad with something beautiful out of the deepest conviction," says Pavel Semchenko. "We start with a blank canvas and then we just live the art to do something about our powerlessness."
AKHE is one of the best-known independent groups in Russia and has received many awards. The performance begins on February 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. on Jorge-Gomondai-Platz in Äußere Neustadt. The painting action is accompanied by a sound performance by the musician Daniel Williams and a dance performance by the artist Valentin Tszin.
Pavel Semchenko is an award-winning St. Petersburg-born artist, actor, performer, director, set designer, and painter. He works with numerous theaters worldwide and is co-founder of the internationally recognized engineering theater AKHE.
